Please be aware that, effective September 17, 2026, all inspection-related forms must be submitted using the State Highway Patrol Investigative Services Unit (ISU) format. License & Theft Bureau forms dated after September 17, 2026, will no longer be accepted.

“Attention North Carolina Inspection Stations: Effective September 17, 2026, inspection stations must no longer use or submit License & Theft Bureau forms. All former License & Theft Bureau forms have been replaced by State Highway Patrol Investigative Services Unit (ISU) forms. For example, the former License & Theft Bureau LT-310 form has been replaced by the State Highway Patrol ISU-310 form. The LT-310 form will no longer be accepted. All forms submitted to the State Highway Patrol must be completed using the current Investigative Services Unit form format. Current ISU forms are available on the North Carolina State Highway Patrol website. To access the forms, visit www.ncshp.gov, select Investigative Services Unit, and then select Investigative Service Unit Documents. Please ensure that all personnel responsible for inspection-related paperwork are informed of this change and begin using the current SHP ISU forms immediately. For questions regarding vehicle safety and emissions inspections, please contact the State Highway Patrol Investigative Services Unit, Vehicle Safety/Emissions Inspections Section, at (919) 757-0752.”

From the Carolinas, a Continuing Tradition of Leadership at NIADA

As Michael Darrow steps away from the NIADA board with the end of his tenure as chairman, one of his fellow Carolinians, Darla Booher, will be taking over the reins of leadership.

Booher, the current president-elect and owner of Deal Depot in Greer, South Carolina, will be installed as president of the association representing more than 13,000 dealers during the Membership Meeting at the NIADA Convention in June in Denver, Colorado.
