SB488 LPA’S ISSUING 30 DAY MARKERS UPDATE
**30-Day Marker Limit Increase Authorization for LPAs**
As of today, 8 October 2020, the following increases will be authorized for all License Plate Agencies (LPAs) as it pertains to the sell of 30-Day Markers to dealerships. The form, MVR-430 (30 Day Temporary Tag Order Form) which is attached and will be posted on the Dealer Unit webpage, must still be collected at the time of sale and is required to be attached to the separator sheet that will print at the end of the transaction. While we are continuing to limit the number of 30-day markers that dealerships can purchase, we have increased the limits as listed below.
- Independent Dealers can only purchase up to three (3) packages *(75 plates) per week
- Franchise Dealers can purchase up to five (5) packages *(125 plates) per week.
*Additional 30-day markers will be issued in the event that a dealer exhausts their supply of 30-day plates within the week. Dealerships will be required to furnish the receipts from the registration receipt books and send those receipt to the NC DMV Dealer Unit, located at DMV Headquarters, Raleigh, NC. Please reference the recently released official bulletin for additional information.
