NC Pre-Licensing Class - Harrisburg (August 24th-25th, 2023)

This course is for those pursuing a dealer license in the state of North Carolina. Students who complete this course will be issued a certificate of completion, which is to be submitted to the DMV. This certificate expires 1 year after the date issued. Once you start your dealership, call us and let us know so we can activate your 1-year CIADA membership!

    • CIADA Independent Dealer Pre-Licensing

    The Carolinas Independent Automobile Dealers Association has been educating Independent Dealers since July 2002. Our highly trained and experienced instructors have educated thousands of new and experienced dealers! Our Pre-Licensing class won a national award for excellence and is recognized as "the Cadillac of dealer education programs”.

    The State of North Carolina requires all persons who wish to become an Independent Automobile Dealer (Used Car Dealer) to take a state-mandated 12-hour class. We offer that class every month to everyone who wishes to become a dealer.

    Whats Included?

    1. The 12 Hour class. It is covered over two days ( usually a Thursday & Friday) Day one begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM Day Two begins at 8:00 am and ends at 1:00 pm.
    2.  A full binder of all the Education Materials, as well as a Flash Drive with all the Federal and State mandated forms and documents on it.
    3. A starter pack of forms, which contains 5 sets of all the State, Federal, and CIADA forms that you will need in order to sell cars.
    4. Information about software companies, insurance and bond quotes, and virtually everything else you need to successfully run your dealership.

      What will I learn in the class?

      In our day and a half class, you will learn how to set up your business and get your license; how to buy, display, and sell vehicles including all the required paperwork; and how to keep those cars sold by staying in compliance with state and federal laws regulating this industry. We discuss privacy issues, damage disclosure, warranties and service contracts, financing, repossession, bonds and insurance and much, much more.

      When you take the CIADA Pre-Licensing class, we GIVE you a year’s membership in the Carolinas Independent Automobile Dealers Association – CIADA – THE trade association for North and South Carolina Independent Dealers. As a member, you will receive monthly newsletters full of information important to your business, as well as magazines and other publications. As soon as you get your license and notify us that you are a dealer, we activate your membership and within 2 weeks you will receive your 4 coupon books via access to the coupon app that may be used to save you $$$$ in buy or sell fees at various auctions! You will have access to our business partners – vendors providing products and services, many with special programs for members. You also receive the NIADA benefits with your 1 year membership.

    We want you to be successful in your business. For one year after you complete the class, we provide you with free consulting services! You can call or e-mail us with any questions you have, problems you are experiencing, issues you need to resolve and if we don’t know the answer we will research it and get an answer for you. Call us when you are completing your first deal and we will talk you through the paperwork. Call us when you are not sure how to answer a customer’s questions and we’ll help you out. Call us when a customer has a complaint and we can help you figure out what you need to do.
